Changyeob (C.Y.) Ok is a visual artist based in Seoul, Korea. C.Y previously worked with astrophysicists as an electronics engineer to complete a project that was initiated by NASA before pursuing art. C.Y. obtained a Master's Degree in Art & Technology Studies at the School of Art Institute of Chicago. C.Y. believes technology works like a thick layer of armors in the 21st century, and the only tool to strip off this protective layer is also the technology itself. The exploration of this irony is an important source of inspiration for the artist. He searches for ways to expose and unveil the true nature of the human species with the help of technology. He uses electrical sensors to expose elements of the world that are invisible to the naked eye. C.Y. aims to juxtapose questions that originate from the viewers themselves, and to recognize our fragility as organic beings in a technological world.
