Yumi Tamashiro joined Emerald City Music in December 2021 as Production Manager where she remotely produces its season programs.
Before coming to Emerald City Music, Yumi was the Director of Programs at Camerata Pacifica (2021), Operations Manager for The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center (2019-2021), Managing Director for Sō Percussion (2012-2019) and Managing Director and Special Projects Coordinator for Emily Johnson / Catalyst (2016-2017). Yumi is also a freelance Project Manager and currently works with Wild Up (CA) and The Concert Truck (MD). As a Project Manager, she collaborates with key stakeholders to identify and execute goals while working with the team to manage workload keeping in mind short and long-term goals of the organization. She directs project initiatives from conceptualization through development, implementation, and management.
As a freelance percussionist, Yumi has performed at venues such as Carnegie Hall, Tennessee Theater, The Kennedy Center, and has performed on a range of projects including the Big Ears Festival (2014) and Eaux Claire Festival (2016). She has had the privilege of performing with groups such as Nexus, ¡Acopladitos!, and the Grammy winning Attacca Quartet.
